something Shiq

A paisley surprise :)

Posting this backlog look which I had a few weeks ago for a client meeting. Due to some styling stints, wasn't able to post soonest. But here it is :)

Paisley prints are amongst the trending prints nowadays. It's good to know that there are other prints in existence aside from florals :) For this look, I went for shades of pastels. I'm a pastel aficionado, in case you haven't noticed haha Pastels are so much like candy. They give you a surge of those happy hormones. When I'm in a pastel tone, automatically, my aura translates to light, refreshing sweetness. I see pastels dominating til at least pre-fall season. For pre-fall, pastels are combined with neon, 2 color trends we still can't get enough of. Reinvention is key to keep any look sustaining. Unlike spring/summer 2012,  pastels are collaborating with cooler hues in preparation for fall.

As promised in my earlier post, here are the complete set of colors of Shiq's pre-fall wallet collection. For sorbet lovers like me, you'll find your pick in pastels! I love my blue one! These purse go on fashionably for your mobile phones, or any miniscule neccesities you need to stash for that no-big-bag fuss.

For the bright-color enthusiast, here's your attention grabber!

dear kate

Who says you can't wear white after Labor Day?!... In tropical regions, such as our beloved Manila, pulling an all-out white is key to breezy chic when the temperatures rise. I'd like to think that dressing in fresh whites and airy neutrals channels the inner Coco in me :) The white parade, like life, is short. So go on adventures :)

The moment I saw this sheer embroidered top, I just knew I had to do an all-white. Amidst the explosion of color theory in the fashion scene (bursts of neons and pastels from head to toe), white suggests a breather. I love this top because the sheerness and delicate floral embroidery reminded me of pieces from the runways of LV Summer 2012. Oh, how I would love to get my hands on those saccharine-induced creations!

What's good about an all-white is that you can also play with textures without sending off a red signal to the fashion police. This embroidered top balanced with this lace skirt gratuitously. Since I've already got some elements going on, I chose simple accessories. Opted for black tassel earrings to add a tad of drama and stashed a black purse for my miniscule necessities.

Off to where in this white rendition? Sipping hot coco in the gardens of Antonio's Breakfast in Tagaytay :) While most girls would probably hop in the car wearing ever-trusted comfy pair of shorts (which I am not in any way contrary to :)), a scenic getaway also provides an open door to exercise one's flair for fashion. You gotta try it :) Have you?

cuts like a knife

Lately, I find myself obsessing with the cutout trend. Cutouts are innovative fashion creations which we can rely on when we're tired of the sexy norm-- bandage dresses, venus cut/ plunging necklines, maxi dresses, and so forth and so on. What's refreshing about cutouts is that you can indulge in them without giving it all- a discreet show of skin- my take on sophisticated-sexy.

For this look, I grabbed my fave maillot and introduced it to my faux-reptilian leggings. You'd think swim wear pieces only belonged to the vast sands and h20? Think again :) To extend my investments on swim wears, I stash them to the city to acquiant them with their urban potential :) ...

I've noticed I haven't posted anything wearing leggings yet (or at least alloted an entire blog on it. Just remembered I wore a different version and posted it together with my Mega stint). Leggings are staple pieces you can pair with just about anything. Most of the time, I'd don tights under dresses or oversized/ lengthy shirts. But because I'm goin after an inspiration-worthy look here (forgive me, but I can only try), I thought I'd brave my overly conscious lower limbs (aka thighs :))and suck the living daylight out of me. hehe I think 'we' survived... barely...

So, if you want to give this fashion a shot, no need to scramble to the nearby mall. If you're a keeper of maillots (1 pc swim wear with cuts), all you have to do is try 'em with any of your fab bottom pieces and off you go! :)

Threw over a gilet (vest) for a complete urban experience. Something you can translate in for a lunch mtg with the boss or simply running for a cup of coffee.
